Cyber Arena

These competitions are designed for Lithuanian cybersecurity professionals and advanced enthusiasts. Here, participants come together to put their technical skills to the test in realistic scenarios, tackle complex challenges, and compete for the title of the best.

Cyber Arena 2026 has been built with the rapidly evolving cybersecurity landscape and the growing influence of artificial intelligence in mind. The competition focuses not only on technical knowledge, but also on the ability to make effective use of modern tools, quickly analyze a situation, and make decisions under pressure.

Three activities, one arena

Cyber Arena consists of three competition formats that complement one another.

Capture The Flag (CTF)

One of the most popular cybersecurity competition formats in the world. Participants solve challenges of varying difficulty and search for hidden "flags" that confirm a successfully completed task.

Cyber Arena CTF will cover areas such as cryptography, reverse engineering, web vulnerabilities, binary exploitation, OSINT, and AI security. Challenges will be released in stages, from simpler to more complex, specifically designed to encourage creative problem-solving and effective use of modern tools.

Bug Bounty

A format in which participants search for real security vulnerabilities in live information systems. Unlike CTF, this involves analyzing actual systems rather than artificially created challenges, following the principles of responsible vulnerability disclosure.

During Cyber Arena, participants will have the opportunity to help strengthen the security of partner systems, and points toward the overall ranking will be awarded for vulnerabilities that are found and properly documented. This is a chance to test your skills in an environment that closely resembles the real-world work of cybersecurity professionals.

King of the Hill (KOTH)

An active attack and defense competition format, in which participants simultaneously work to protect their own systems and take control of infrastructure held by other teams. Victory is determined not only by successful attacks, but also by the ability to hold on to captured systems for as long as possible.

This is the most dynamic part of Cyber Arena, demanding technical mastery, teamwork, quick decision-making, and strategic planning. It is the format closest to real cyber operations, where attack and defense happen simultaneously and the situation is constantly evolving.

Join Cyber Arena if you are:

A cybersecurity specialist

A professional in penetration testing, SOC, incident response, or related fields

A student or advanced enthusiast looking to test your skills in real-world situations

Whether you take part individually or as a team, what matters most is the drive to tackle complex challenges and learn from the best.

Why is it worth participating?

Cyber Arena is your opportunity to:

Test yourself in complex, real-world scenarios

Measure yourself against Lithuania's strongest cybersecurity specialists

Connect with the community and build professional relationships

Showcase your skills to potential employers and partners

Contribute to a stronger cybersecurity landscape in Lithuania

FAQ

What is "Cyber Arena"?

"Cyber Arena" is a cybersecurity competition organized by the Lithuanian Riflemen's Union cybersecurity unit "Lizdeika," held as part of the wider "Flaming Shield 2026" event. It consists of three disciplines — classic CTF, Bug Bounty, and King of the Hill (KOTH), a live attack-and-defense competition on a dedicated range. Points from all three disciplines are combined into an overall leaderboard, so the most well-rounded team takes the win.

Who can participate and how do you register?

The competition is designed for cybersecurity professionals. We're planning for 60–80 participants — once that number is reached, registration will close. Registration takes place online through the event website (no on-site registration will be available). The Bug Bounty discipline requires an additional individual registration on the VMSA platform, along with signing a confidentiality agreement.

Do you need a team?

No, you can participate as a team (up to three people) or individually — a solo participant is treated as a one-person team for scoring purposes. Teams are formed during registration, and if you arrive without one, you'll also be able to find teammates on Friday evening during the opening.

Can you participate remotely?

No, the main program takes place live in Kaunas. There are two exceptions: the Bug Bounty discipline starts remotely before the event begins, and the overnight phase of KOTH also continues remotely.

Is it mandatory to take part in all three disciplines?

No, you can choose only the disciplines you're most interested in. That said, the overall result is calculated as the sum of points across all three disciplines, so those who participate in all of them have the best chances of winning — a weaker performance in one discipline can be offset by the others.

Can you use artificial intelligence?

Yes — AI tools are not only allowed but encouraged. The challenges are designed to be at least somewhat AI-resistant, and in the KOTH discipline, using AI agents is part of the core gameplay itself.

What do you need to bring?

Your own laptop and the tools you're used to working with. WiFi, LAN, and plenty of power outlets will be available on-site. Coffee, water, and snacks will be provided by the organizers.

Do you need to be on-site for the whole event? What happens overnight?

For the KOTH overnight phase (from Saturday to Sunday), participants continue remotely, connecting to the range via remote access. On Sunday, everyone returns to the venue for the finish and awards ceremony. Overnight accommodation is not provided — please arrange this in advance.

Will meals be provided during the event?

Yes. On Saturday, participants will be provided with lunch and dinner, and on Sunday, breakfast.

What should you do in the event of an accident or other emergency?

Stay calm and follow the instructions of the organizers and volunteers — they will direct you to the nearest evacuation exit. The general emergency number in Lithuania is 112. Useful information on emergency preparedness can be found at lt72.lt.
